As a proud carver of Ngāti Irakehu, Ngāti Huikai and Ngāiti Moki descent - with deep ancestral roots connected to Wairewa, Koukourarata, Te Taumutu and Ōnuku Marae - I have been immersed in the art of traditional bone, stone, and wood carving for over 12 years. Growing up with a father who is a renowned taxidermist, working with natural materials was second nature to me from an early age. That childhood curiosity grew into a lifelong dedication to crafting taonga. Deeply connected to Aotearoa, my years spent hunting and navigating the South Island gave me an intrinsic respect for raw materials and traditional artistry.

After operating a successful physical storefront for many years, Pounamu Queensland has now transitioned to a dedicated home studio and online-first model. This move allows me to focus fully on my craft—hand-carving custom Pounamu, bespoke commissions, and shaping precious gemstones into unique treasures. Every piece I create honors my Tīpuna and carries forward the strength, story, and traditions of my ancestors.
