A powerful symbol of strength, determination, and mana, this striking Toki (Adze) pendant has been masterfully hand-sculpted from an extraordinary and rare piece of genuine New Zealand Totoweka Pounamu.
Named for its striking resemblance to the blood (toto) of the native weka bird, Totoweka jade is highly prized for its unique, fiery character. In natural resting light— the stone presents a moody, deep forest-green hue densely layered with dark mineral inclusions. However, when held to the light, the stone reveals its true magic. It glows with a vibrant, translucent golden-olive clarity, exposing a rich, internal landscape of deep auburn, rust, and crimson-tinted plumes swirling through its core.
Measuring approximately 7cm x 2.5cm, Dion has carved this piece into a strong, sleek, modern interpretation of the traditional adze blade. It is beautifully balanced with an extended, natural-coloured earth-brown whipping lashing that tapers seamlessly into a durable, hand-plaited natural neckline cord with an adjustable slider knot.
